The Reina Torres de Araúz Anthropological Museum (MARTA)

"MARTA preserves the pre-Columbian history of Panama, which ranges from the first settlers who inhabited the Isthmus, more than 10,000 years ago, until the arrival of the Spaniards." Here, "the first state research center on historical heritage in Panama will be established; the inventory of the museum's collection will be digitized." Collections of pre-Colombian artifacts and exhibits include over 15,000 pre-Columbian pieces, with artifacts from the Barriles tribe, jewelry, ceramics, lithic and ethnographic objects, projectile points, woodwork, etc. See website for details on access.
