Ahtna Heritage Foundation

Description
C'ek'aedi Hwnax Ahtna Regional Linguistic and Ethnographic Archive: collects and preserves the many historic photographs of Ahtna people and documents important to Ahtna history. The digital archive and tribal library continue to collect materials for their comprehensive regional repository housing artifacts, recordings, photographs, and written works related to Ahtna people. "The Ahtna Cultural Center maintains a digital archive with nearly 1600 audio and video recordings containing oral histories, family & clan lineages, subsistence, geography and other aspects of Ahtna cultural traditions. Information on each recording is gathered and kept in a database. A public workstation makes the recordings and their information accessible according to permission levels. A tribal library, funded through grants from the Institute for Museum & Library Services, provides access to published works relevant to Ahtna history, culture and language, and to selected publications on subjects related to Alaska and Alaska Natives."
