Description
The Santa Ana Tavela community museum in Oaxaca displays heritage items from the customs and traditions of the local community throughout history, including historical photographs and documents, and archaeological artifacts that were collected during previous archaeological research. The Museum has partnered with the Center for Digital Archaeology in creating a ' virtual gallery of stories and objects from Tavela’s rich cultural heritage' for the public. "Currently the site includes rich narrative and media about the Museum and the territory, images and 3D views of both contemporary folk art and archaeological artifacts, and is meant as a working prototype for further development." The virtual gallery is still under development. See website for full holdings and details on access.
