Innu Language Project (ILP)

Description
"The Innu Language Project (ILP) is a true collaboration between university researchers and Aboriginal organizations. It has grown out of a number of continuously SSHRC-funded research projects over the past twelve years... The Aboriginal Languages Research Lab (AbLab) houses an extensive archive of books and audio-visual materials related to several Aboriginal languages, including Algonquian languages (Innu-aimun, Cree, Mi’kmaq, and Blackfoot), Iroquoian languages (Cayuga and Mohawk), and Inuktitut. It also holds academic papers, curricula, and educational resources, including materials on Aboriginal education and literacy." Language material, word lists, linguistic atlases, mobile apps and other resources and publications are available on the website, as well as the Online Aboriginal Languages Research Collection portal. PDF version books of Innu language myths and legends are available for download and select items for purchase, with accompanying audio available on select stories. Site content available in French, Innu-aimun, and English. See website for full holdings and details on access.
