Resources include: a directory of public libraries and cultural centers; General Archive of the Nation of El Salvador (AGN): historical and administrative manuscripts dating from the year 1653, colonial documents. Resources are grouped into five sections: Colonial, Central American Federation, Republic, private archives and a photo library. Other materials include books, magazines, bulletins, theses, memoirs, notebooks, monographs, technical works, research papers, ecclesiastical manuscripts and newspapers from between 1847 and present; The National Library of El Salvador (BINAES), with a searchable online catalog of holdings; The Specialized Library of the National Museum of Anthropology: collection of cultural objects from the national territory, research, and publications in the fields of Archeology, Anthropology and History. A project is underway to digitize and make available to the public resources from the Museum's collections. See website for further information on collections and access.
