Description
"The California Indian Library Collections (CILC) contains archived sound recordings, photographs, and textual materials (such as books, journal articles, unpublished manuscripts and field notes, many of which were gathered by Berkeley researchers in the early years of this century,) which been duplicated and installed in twenty-one northern and central California libraries." The main Colusa County Library's microfilm collection dates back to 1862 with early editions of local newspapers, and selected rolls from the California Indian Library Collection, composed of field notes, scholarly articles, and turn-of-the-century photographs of Native Californians. The CILC microfilm is from a partnership between the California State Library and UC Berkeley’s Hearst Museum. A finding guide for the library collection is available, and the library catalog lists holdings from the collection in a searchable format. Select digital materials from the collection may be available, see website for details.
