Description
Center for Archaeology and Society: the Repository curates more than 70,000 specimens from central Arizona, including materials from excavations conducted for The Bureau of Reclamation within the boundaries of Tonto National Forest connected to the Central Arizona Project and related modification projects to the Roosevelt, Bartlett, and Horseshoe Dams. Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve (the former Deer Valley Rock Art Center) serves as the center’s primary public physical exhibition space. The center is pursuing a major new focus on digital exhibits and digital presentations of its collections, working to provide increased access to its extensive holdings through online tours of field sites, collections, exhibitions and searchable databases of collections; Teotihuacan Research Laboratory: Ethnographic and archaeology collections include pottery, Latin American folk art and American Southwest materials. Website hosts a virtual tour of Teotihuacan and an online index to collections.
